1 June 2005: those of you who keep an eye on eBay may have seen a version of this for sale recently, with a rather helpful caption on the back: "To Miss Marjorie, the farm at La Carrière, from Anna". La Carrière is a huge (by Guernsey standards) complex of farm buildings in the Forest, at the junction of the rue du Bigard and the rue de la Corbière.

27 August 2006: several people have pointed out to me that a version of this picture appears in John Corbin Allez's booklet on 'Guernsey Farming in the 1920s' (1998, p. 33), and that the woman is Delilah Brouard (née Allez) and the man Gustave Cataroche. Thanks!
