In Guernsey. J. Welch & Sons, JWS 493.
The title really doesn't help much. Where was this impressive barn,
and does it still exist?
August 2006: John David suggested to me a while ago that this was Le
Camptrehard, in St Andrew's. It's taken me a while to check it out, and
I'm still not sure if it's the right place or not. If it is, then the
barn has been considerably heightened, and in fact perhaps rebuilt: as
far as I can see there is no sign in the stonework now of the original
door in the gable end. I'm also unsure about the road in the distance,
since on the postcard it appears to be going downhill, whereas now it's
quite clearly uphill. I think the jury's still out on this one!
